Safeer Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital has announced statistics detailing the number of surgical procedures provided to beneficiaries during 2025.
The hospital’s administrative assistant, engineer Abbas Abdul Ali, said in a statement to the official website that “the number of surgeries performed by Safeer Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital during 2025 reached 17,800 procedures.” He explained that “this figure includes all types of surgeries across various levels, including specialized, qualitative, super-major, major, and intermediate operations.”
He clarified that “the number of specialized surgical procedures, classified by the Iraqi Ministry of Health as among the most complex medical operations, reached approximately 2,000 surgeries.” These were carried out across several specialties, including general surgery, urology, gastrointestinal surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, as well as maxillofacial surgery.
He added that “the number of endoscopic procedures performed at the hospital amounted to around 7,000 operations,” noting that “surgeries conducted for citizens from various Iraqi provinces accounted for 43 percent of the total.”
He emphasized that “the procedures were not limited to a specific province but included patients from all Iraqi governorates, as well as from outside Iraq,” pointing out that “the hospital provides its services around the clock without interruption.”
He noted that “the surgeries were performed by highly skilled surgeons using the latest medical equipment.”
