Imam Hussain Shrine announces plans to construct new building for Al-Safir Hospital

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has revealed that it is preparing to begin construction of a new building for Safir Imam Hussain (AS) Surgical Hospital, to be located within the vicinity of the soon-to-be-launched Courtyard of the Great Prophet project.

Engineer Hussein Redha Mahdi, Director of the Imam Hussain Courtyard Expansion Projects Department, stated that “a new building for Safir Imam Hussain (AS) Surgical Hospital will be constructed on one side of the Courtyard of the Prophet (P), overlooking Muhit Street.”

He added that “once the new building is fully completed, the current hospital will relocate to the new facility, and the existing structure will be removed.” He noted that the new hospital will cover a very large area, estimated at 30,000 square meters, with a capacity of up to 200 beds.
