Using World-Class Technology, Al-Abbas Holy Shrine Produces 120,000 Solar Panels Annually

The Al-Noor Factory for the Production of Renewable Electrical Energy Equipment, affiliated with the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, has announced an annual production capacity of 120,000 solar panels manufactured using the latest global technologies. The initiative aims to encourage the use of clean energy while supporting the national economy through productive projects that provide hundreds of job opportunities.

Diaa Majeed Al-Saigh, Head of the Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, stated that the Al-Noor Factory currently produces more than 10,000 crystalline silicon solar panels per month. These panels are designed specifically for solar power generation and are manufactured using world-class technologies. He noted that the factory is the first of its kind in Iraq and has received official certification from the Ministry of Electricity.

He added that the factory’s cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity aims to support Iraq’s national power grid. In addition, the factory has been granted a certificate of excellence by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, affiliated with the Ministry of Planning, while its production equipment has also obtained international ISO quality certification.

Al-Saigh explained that the factory operates using advanced manufacturing technologies and Italian robotic systems, similar to those used by the French energy company Total in its clean energy projects in Iraq.

He further noted that the factory currently provides more than 300 job opportunities, with expectations that employment will increase in the next phase as production capacity and facilities expand. These opportunities cover a wide range of engineering, technical, and skilled labor fields, according to Al-Alam Al-Jadeed newspaper.

Al-Saigh concluded by stating that the factory will supply educational, industrial, and agricultural institutions affiliated with the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine with integrated solar energy systems, including the installation of solar power stations. He added that the project contributes to strengthening Iraq’s national economy and advancing sustainable development by creating hundreds of jobs and promoting renewable energy solutions.
