The Rituals and Hussaini Processions Department at The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the continuation of preparations to hold the Zaynabi Nights event to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), near the Courtyard of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), during the period from 14 to 16 of the month of Rajab.
The head of the department, Mr. Mohammed Karim, said in a statement to the official website that “the Rituals and Hussaini Processions Department at the Holy Imam Hussain Shrine is continuing its preparations to hold the Zaynabi Nights event to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).” He explained that “the event will be held in the Courtyard of Al-Aqeela, adjacent to Tell Al-Zaynabi and near the Courtyard of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), during the period (5–7 January 2026, 14–16 Rajab).”
He clarified that “the event will be organized in cooperation with the relevant departments at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, with the participation of a large number of processions from within Karbala Governorate and other provinces.”
He added that “the event will include the opening of Tell Al-Zaynabi throughout the days of mourning, in addition to holding Quranic sessions, a photo exhibition, and mourning gatherings, along with the display of banners and signs of grief throughout the venue and surrounding areas.”
It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in accordance with the directives of the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, sponsors and organizes numerous programs marking the births and passing anniversaries of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) across most Iraqi provinces.
