The International Quran Preaching Center at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) Center for Quranic Sciences, has held a competition in Lebanon for the memorization of Lady Zainab’s (peace be upon her) sermon. The event drew the participation of more than 400 male and female contestants from different age groups.
Ali Abu Al-Hassan, head of the center’s branch in Lebanon, stated: “The competition witnessed broad participation from diverse segments and showed strong engagement with both Quranic and Zainabian discourse. It was not limited to memorization, but also incorporated educational and cognitive elements that enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of the meanings of the blessed sermon.”
He further explained: “The preparation period for the competition included a series of lectures that examined the contents of Lady Zainab’s sermon and highlighted the Quranic verses corresponding to its meanings. The aim was to instill Quranic values and enhance awareness of the message of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).”
Abu Al-Hassan added that the competition marks an important step within a broader series of Quranic and educational programs run by the center’s Lebanon branch. These initiatives, he noted, seek to strengthen Quranic culture and promote the heritage of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) among different sectors of society.
