Indonesia: Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority Praises Success of Fourth Preaching Tour

In a step reflecting the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain’s ongoing commitment to promoting Quranic culture and strengthening academic and religious ties on the international level, the Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, praised the success of the shrine’s fourth missionary tour across several Indonesian cities, which witnessed remarkable engagement from academic and religious communities.

During a meeting, Sheikh Al-Karbalai stated, “We deeply appreciate the tremendous efforts made by the delegation of the Holy Shrine during this blessed tour, which helped convey the message of the Holy Quran and the teachings of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) to the Indonesian society. We have observed great resonance and significant interaction, underscoring the importance of continuing this missionary approach.”

He further called for “enhancing scientific cooperation between Iraq and Indonesia through implementing academic exchange programs and offering scholarships to students of religious studies, in order to strengthen Islamic brotherhood and foster cultural and intellectual openness between the two nations.”

Meanwhile, Muntazar Al-Mansouri, Director of the International Quranic Preaching Center at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, said, “During the meeting, we reviewed the key stages of the tour, which comes as a continuation of previous missionary rounds.” He emphasized that “the aim was to consolidate Quranic relations and expand the scope of knowledge between the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain and Indonesia’s academic and religious centers.”

He added that “the tour included visits to several religious institutes, public universities, and Quranic centers in different Indonesian cities, as well as meetings with prominent religious and academic figures. The delegation delivered lectures and Quranic lessons, along with organizing cultural and missionary events to explain the path of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and address misconceptions about their followers.”

Al-Mansouri noted that “Indonesian society showed strong engagement with the Quranic programs organized by the Holy Shrine, reflecting a deep interest in the Holy Quran and a sincere desire to learn from Iraq’s scientific and religious experiences.”

He concluded, “Members of the delegation were honored with copies of the Holy Quran published by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and received certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts. The delegation also met with the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine, Hassan Rashid Al-Abaychi, who expressed his happiness with the positive outcomes of the tour and presented commemorative gifts to the delegation members, encouraging them to continue such initiatives that strengthen the shrine’s Quranic and cultural presence on the international stage.”
