In a new academic milestone that strengthens its growing record of scientific and research achievements, Al-Zahraa University for Women, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), has officially joined the Round University Ranking (RUR), an internationally recognized academic index issued by a Russia-based institution.
The university received formal confirmation of its inclusion via email from the ranking organization.
Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, stated on the university’s official website, “Al-Zahraa University for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has officially been listed in the global RUR (Round University Ranking). This recognition marks a significant academic advancement for the university.”
She added that the university’s entry into this prestigious ranking demonstrates its sustained commitment to academic excellence and scientific research in line with international standards of quality and performance.
“The RUR is one of the world’s leading university rankings,” Dr. Al-Sultani explained. “It covers 37 disciplines across the sciences and humanities, allowing institutions to showcase their academic strengths, research capabilities, and overall educational performance.”
In the most recent edition of the ranking, Al-Zahraa University for Women placed 19th among Iraqi universities and 674th globally, achieving an overall score of 49.823. This accomplishment positions the university among hundreds of academic institutions worldwide competing in the global ranking system.
Dr. Al-Sultani emphasized that this success represents a qualitative leap for the university, underscoring its growing reputation at both national and international levels. She credited this achievement to the dedication and perseverance of the university’s academic staff and research teams.
On this occasion, the university extended its congratulations to all members of its academic community, faculty, researchers, and students, affirming that this achievement marks only the beginning of a broader journey toward greater global recognition.
