Al-Mujtaba Hospital, affiliated with the Health Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced a new community service initiative through the signing of a cooperation agreement between the authority and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, in coordination with Karbala Health Directorate, to provide specialized services for patients.
Dr. Haidar Al-Abadi, head of the authority, stated that “the agreement with the Social Security Authority at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs enables the hospital to provide social security services to all its visitors. This step marks a qualitative shift in the level of healthcare offered.”
He explained that “the new services go beyond basic medical care, extending to specialized fields such as bone marrow transplants and advanced cancer treatments. This strengthens the hospital’s position as a pioneering medical institution offering an integrated and safe treatment system for patients.”
He added that “through this initiative, the authority has invited its regular patients, particularly cancer patients and those with chronic illnesses, to present their cases before the hospital’s specialized medical committee, in preparation for including them in the monthly stipend program for full-time caregivers, in coordination with the Disability Rights Authority and the Karbala Health Directorate.”
Al-Abadi also noted that “the Bone Marrow Transplant Center at Al-Mujtaba Hospital leads the region in the number of cases treated, establishing its reputation as a trusted medical destination for patients both within Iraq and from abroad.”
