Imam Hussain Shrine Holds Celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s Birth Anniversary in Kurdistan Region

On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine organized a celebration in the Kurdistan Region to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), with the participation of several religious figures and representatives from diverse communities.

Sheikh Ali Al-Quraawi, the representative of the Imam Hussain Shrine in the region, extended his congratulations to the Islamic nation on this blessed occasion, stating: “This anniversary embodies the values of mercy, unity, and love among different communities.”

He added that “the celebration included a tour of the historic Erbil Citadel, where residents met and exchanged greetings on the occasion of the Prophet’s birth. The atmosphere was filled with joy and brotherhood, as the Imam Hussain Shrine offered services to participants by distributing water, juices, and sweets to those in attendance.”

Al-Quraawi further noted that “on the sidelines of the celebration, meetings were held with the Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Endowments, Dr. Peshtewan Sadiq, and with the Director of Endowments, Mr. Tayeb Zrar. The discussions included an exchange of congratulations and an emphasis on strengthening cooperation between religious institutions in order to uphold shared Islamic and humanitarian values, as well as reinforcing the principles of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and unity across all segments of society.”
