Imam Hussain Shrine revealed spending (500M IQD) to provide medical services and perform surgeries for humanitarian cases in all Iraqi governorates during March 2023
The General Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs at the Shrine, Ahmed Redha Al-Khafaji, said in an interview, "Based on the direct guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, during March, we received hundreds of cases, a part of them were cases that appeared on social media and part of them were patients' appeals to Sheikh al-Karbalaie from inside the Shrine after the prayer at the prayer spot.
He explained, " Over (300) sick cases were treated at the expense of the shrine," noting that "the total cost of the treatment services provided to them amounted to (500M) IQD."
Al-Khafaji added, "The services included citizens from various Iraqi governorates, where Major and Above-Major surgeries were performed for them at the Shrine's hospitals such as Imam ZainulAbidin (PBUH) specialized hospital, in addition to the Warith International Foundation for Oncology, as well as the Sheikh Ahmed al-Waaiily and Al-Safeer specialized hospital.
