Thirty-six children, survived autism, now talented, enroll in school and society

Imam Hussain Institute for Autistic Children has celebrated the 6th group of graduate children who survived autism.

The celebration held at the Imam Hussein Shrine was attended by a great number of officials, academics, and families of children.

Zehra’ Zuainey – institute director – said, “It’s been 3 years of constant efforts the staff of Imam Hussain Institute made to capacitate autistic children to enroll in school and society. This group consisted of 36 children – who suffered different types of autism – has been treated through programs internationally recognized by the World Health Organization. This group of children is now able to enroll in school, especially after discovering that every one of them has grown a talent, and they now do different things, such as reciting the Noble Quran and memorizing some of its chapters, playing musical instruments, and speaking English, in addition to interacting with the society after they used to live lonelily.”

It is notable to mention that the Imam Hussain Shrine has opened 9 autistism treatment centers in different Iraqi cities.
