Nigerian, Senegalese, and Tanzanian students participate in Futsal championship

Within the sport program called “Our Youth,” the Department of General Activities of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has held a Futsal championship where 20 teams participated in.

Among the players, a group of players from Senegal Tanzania, and Nigeria participated in the championship. Those players are currently studying Islamic preaching in Kerbela – Iraq.

The reason why Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has given these foreign students the opportunity to interact and socialize with the Iraqi youth is to offer them entertainment during the period of their study, and so they convey a better image about Iraq to their countries.

Ibrahim Mohammed Hasan, student from Nigeria, said, “I have come to Iraq in order to learn the knowledge of Ahlyl-Bayet (Peace Be Upon Them). I was afraid to come to Iraq due to what was told about Iraq and its security status, but I found the opposite, and the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has provided us with everything a student may need.”
