Signing Memorandum of Understanding with Tokyo

Kerbala Study and Research Center of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine received Mr. Itsumo Okada, director of the Middle-East Forum in Tokyo, along with the delegation accompanying him who attended the First International Conference on Grand Scholar El-Bahbahani.

Okada and Kerbala Study and Research Center signed a future memorandum of understanding in terms of cooperation between the two sides.

The memorandum centered on four hubs:

1. Constant cooperation in the future in terms of participating in intellectual and cultural conferences, in addition that the Middle-East Forum should be the window into the world, especially into the Japanese academic and cultural institutions.

2. Assigning the book of Imam Hussein’s Revolution to Mr. Okada to translate it into Japanese, in addition to distributing it in Japan.

3. The Middle-East Forum ought to arrange for the Japanese research and cultural institutions to participate in the International Conference on Imam Hussein’s Universality and the History of Kerbala. This conference, determined to be conducted next year, should be the new window through which cooperation is fulfilled between Iraq and Japan.

4. The memorandum of understanding should be a new approach to expand the future, cultural cooperation in the academic, cultural and intellectual fields.

Okada extended his thankfulness to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and to Kerbala Study and Research Center for inviting him to attend the International Conference on Scholar El-Bahbahani.

He also said that the invitation was the first one sent to him from Iraq. He mentioned that he would convey the great image of the conference to the Japanese people through conducting conferences, symposiums, and writing articles.

He also expressed his admiration in the certificate, issued by UNISCO, presented to him, confirming his willingness to partake in the conferences and events held by the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.

Kerbala Center stated that they will also coordinate with Ph.D holders from European countries, such as France, Germany and Japan in order to attend and partake in international conferences.
