Es-Safi Stresses Necessity of Calling Public Funds Swindlers into Account

August 21, 2015. Second part of the Friday's Sermon held at the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday's Sermon in Kerbala, His Eminence, sayyed Ahmed Es-Safi, mentioned two important issues. Saying:

First:

The war against the terrorist ISIS is still underway. Our dearest ones: armed forces, paramilitaries, and tribal people have honorably been fighting the ISIS in a very crucial war, defending their country, our existence, our future as a people, our dignity, our glory, and preventing sacrilege. All people have realized what happened to the areas that had been occupied by the terrorist ISIS, such as enslaving women, raping them, murdering innocents very heinously, displacing hundreds of thousands of people, and destroying many priceless archeological antiquities of Iraq’s ancient civilization. Therefore, and as long as our sons are exerting themselves and laying down their lives in this war, others; government and people, must offer everything they can in terms of supporting our paramilitaries psychologically, and strengthening their determination and supporting their families they left behind.

The peace we are currently experiencing is the result of the efforts of our warriors and their sacrifices. Therefore, the issue of reforming the government should not drive us away from the real war, but we have to provide our warriors with weapons, better training, better organizing, and funding.

Second.

The conflict, of having the government reformed, we are experiencing nowadays is also a fateful war which determines our future, and there is no choice for the government and people but to win - that requires patience and convergence of efforts of patriots.

Corruption has negatively affected the state managerial system, and there is no time to tolerate any deferment but to be strict this time in order to achieve reformation in the government. The judiciary, regardless of their negligence in the last years and what happened because of that, has to do their duties properly now.

The steps of reforms have to be performed according to the constitutional laws, so there is no pretext for the affected ones by law enforcement to complain.

The reform process may require changing in law or legislating a new law, and the government ought to present projects in this respect to the parliament to have it passed as a first step.

We remind again that the officials in the legislative, judicial, and executive authorities have no choice but to move forward to execute the reforms in the government by holding swindlers into account.

Those who are chosen to do this task must be supported and protected from the bad ones in order to achieve their duty successfully.
