Imam Hussain Holy Shrine holds a worldwide photography competition included 76 countries

The head of the Preparatory Committee of "Taraateel Sajjadyia" International Fair, Jamal Al-Din Al-Shahristani, announced the date of giving awards ceremony for the participants in the 'Khotwa' (step) International Photography Competition, which was launched by the Media Department in cooperation with the Iraqi association of Photography, and another global organization.

Al-Shahristani said in an interview with the official website, "After continuous work lasted for several months by the supervisory authority of the competition, decided that the ceremony will be held at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine on (24/8/2022), (25) Muharram, within the activities of the International 'Taraateel Sajjadyia' fair”

He added that the reason for holding such competitions is to highlight and document the holy rituals of Imam Hussain's revolution, therefore the judge's committee was carefully selected, which included experts from Iraq, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Turkey at a high level"

He added, " The number of participants has reached (1236) photographers, from (76) countries, while the number of the taken shots is (10,490) works."

He concluded that "73 prizes were allocated, including financial amounts up to (1,000$) for the first-place winners"
