Iraqi Minister of Water Resources said, “The projects achieved by Imam Hussain Shrine are sufficient to combat desertification that might affect the holy city of Kerbela.”
In a visit made to Fadak Ennekheel project and Imam Hussain City agricultural project achieved by Imam Hussain Shrine, the Iraqi Minister of Water Resources Hasan Ejjenabi said that the management of the agricultural projects meets the Iraqi Agricultural Ministry’s standards, inviting the investors to follow Imam Hussain Shrine’s steps to accomplish the same goal.
Ejjenabi added that such projects contribute to ensuring food security and preventing the holy city of Kerbela from becoming desertified.
Fadak Ennekheel project is 2000 acres, which is now growing more than 70.000 palm shoots of various Arab origins, imported exclusively for this project.
Imam Hussain City project is 1000 acres, specialized in protected agriculture. It grows vegetables, such as cucumber, tomato, eggplant, pepper, green beans, and wheat, in addition to taking care of animal resources.
