Es-Safi: Parliament Must Provide Necessary Military Equipment And Emphasized Increasing Number Of Soldiers

Oct. 10, 2014. Second part of the Friday Sermon held in the Imam Hussein holy shrine, the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday Sermon in Kerbala city, His Eminence Sayyed Ahmed Es-Safi mentioned three important points: First: As mentioned in the previous Friday Sermon, the real danger that threatens the country is terrorism, and it is every citizen's responsibility to defend their land due to the target being the general population of Iraq. It is also important to reemphasize that the battle against this great threat requires strong determination and a firm foundation to be performed by the military and the other armed groups. It is the government's main responsibility to prepare and provide any needs required for the military such as military supplies, food, drinks, shelter, transportation, and strong communication between the military command and the military forces in order to overcome the enemy. Second: It is every politicians duty to unit their opinions and to not interfere with supreme military command with selfish intentions. For this reason, there should not be any negligence and especially if it results in the loss of the life of soldiers and fighters. The danger that the country is in does not only threaten the entire International Community, however, terrorism plans to expand its terror to where ever it can afford and plant a footstep here and there. The government must utilize all of its accessible capabilities through its relations with the neighbor countries in sealing the existing lack of security. Third: As mentioned previously concerning the issue of the displaced citizens, the government must rapidly provide shelters due to the majority of them residing in schools, Religious Centers and other public buildings. The issue behind the displaced residing in such places is that the school season is soon to start, along with the month of Muharam. The government must prioritize this issue due to significant amounts being spent and the winter season is very close. Hence serious decisions must be made. His Eminence concluded his speech, praying: "May the Almighty Allah grant all people success, bless them, protect them from every evil, help us have a strong country. Praise be to Allah."
