The Secretary-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine Sheikh Abdul Mehdi El-Kerbala'i, has received a letter of apology from Mr. Kofi Annan, the previous Secretary-General of the United Nations. Mr. Jemal Ed-Deen Esh-Shehristani, the head of the Public Relations Department of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, said that Sheikh Abdul Mehdi El-Kerbala'i, received the letter and never mentioned any of the content. The letter of apology was sent in response to an invitation had already been directed to Annan, by the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, inviting him to attend the First International Conference on the Treatise of Rights of Imam Es-Sejjad (Peace Be Upon him).
