The Secretary-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine Sheikh Abdul Mehdi El-Kerbala'i met with the representative of the United Nations to Iraq Mr. Nikolay Mladenov. The meeting was arranged and an invitation was sent to the representative in order to visit Kerbala and be aware of the recent constructional projects. El-Kerbala'i said, "Hopefully, the democratic role in Iraq is reinforced through this meeting and such an initiative might be considered the start of supporting the democratic, political process in order for calmness to pervade throughout Iraq."His eminence appreciated the significant, supporting efforts made by the United Nations in terms of obtaining the objectives expected, from the political process, by Iraqi people.He also mentioned that the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority Sayed Ali El-Husseini Es-Sayestani effectively contributes in supporting calmness all over Iraq. Mladenov extended his gratitude to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine for granting him the opportunity to have the honor in visiting Kerbala holy city and Imam Hussein (PBUH). He mentioned that whoever comes to Kerbala will definitely feel that it is a peace and peaceful coexistence city. Also, he sent his best regards to the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority, highly appreciating his calling all people for voting in the next elections.
