Imam Hussein Holy Shrine holds mourning ceremony on Imam Ej-Jewad's (Peace Be Upon Him) martyrdom

 

The Secretariat-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has held a mourning ceremony on the Imam Ej-Jewad's martyrdom. Imam Ej-Jewad, is the ninth of the infallible Imams (PBUT). The ceremony has been attended by the Secretariat-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine Sheikh Abdul Mehdi El-Kerbala'I, in addition to a great deal of the employees of the Holy Shrine and pilgrims.

The ceremony was opened with reciting verses of the Noble Quran, followed by a lecture by Sayed Mohammed Rida Ej-Jeza'iri, in which he mentioned some of the biography of Imam Ej-Jewad (PBUH). He also called for following the ideal course of life of the Imam (PBUH), by holding responsibilities towards the nation, religion and humanity.

Also, the nave of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has witnessed crowds of pilgrims reiterating shouts about the Imam (PBUH) expressing their faithfulness. A symbolic coffin has been carried and circumambulated the sanctuary of the Imam Hussein (PBUH).

Imam Mohammed Ej-Jewad, son of Ali Er-Rida, (PBUT), was born in 811, and then martyred in 836, by poison inserted by his wife Um El-Fedl, by the command of the Abbasside ruler El-Mu'tasim. His age was 25 years old and his Imamate went on for 17 years.

Allah's peace and mercy be upon you, O my master. O the generous of Ahlulbait (PBUT), the day you were born, the day you were martyred and the day you shall be resurrected.
