Mr. Mohammed Hasan Kadhum, the head of the Architectural Project Department of the Imam Hussein holy shrine stated, "We have been working on expanding, we have begun with the main gate of the holy shrine, it has been expanded about 3-6 meters. The purpose of the expansion is to host as many pilgrims as possible during the great pilgrimages." The Architectural Project Department is specialized in preparing the preliminary studies of the projects such as cultural centers, cities of pilgrims, hospitals and clinics according to the great variety and acceleration of achievement.
