The Secretary-General of the Imam Hussein holy shrine Shaikh Abdul Mahdy EL-Kerbala'i met a delegation from the Iraqi Youth Parliament. His eminence delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of the youth, knowledge and how to use them both for building a better country by rectifying the youth in order to obtain the objectives required. He also said, "Each young and college student must be aware of the events taking place and what their attitude is towards their country."Sayed Thamir EL-Ghanimy, the head of the Iraqi Youth Parliament said in an interview, "We headed for Kerbala as responding to an invitation directed to us by the Imam Hussein holy shrine. The Youth Parliament is an integral social fabric representing diminished Iraq of Arabs, Kurds, Sunnies, Shiites and Christians."He also emphasized that one of the most important messages the Iraqi Youth Parliament pursues to deliver was to express the national unity among all the denominations and nationalities in which Iraqi population forms.
