Future projects of the Imam Hussein holy shrine waiting for the modern rehabilitation of Kerbala city

In order to reach the best levels of offering services to the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (p.b.u.h), and starting from the infrastructure and finishing with the accurate details of these service projects; the Imam Hussein holy shrine laid out a strategic plan for the future projects, and about those projects and obstacles that might prevent implementing them the chief engineers of the holy shrine Mr. Mohammed Hassan Kadhum said that under the guidance of the Secretary-General Shaikh Abdul Mahdy EL-Kerbalai that those projects added to the modern designs of the downtown or called (ideological city). This project being achieved by the Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works which referred it to an Iraqi-Emirates company. The designs would be announced soon, then suggestions would be received and studied by specialists who form a committee consisted of the head of the architectural planning office, members of Kerbala city council and engineers from the Imam Hussein and EL-Abbas holy shrines in order to pronounce the final design because many projects depend on this planning. There are plans to build a new shrine to include more pilgrims. Also, there is a project to establish a wide museum in addition to big libraries. Another project to build a big mosque between the two holy shrines, a Permanent Book Fair, and educational centers. There are some designs about the area between the two holy shrines to build two stories underground and a floor in addition to a few other service buildings for pilgrims. By: Mohammed Jassim
