Under the guidance of Shaikh Abdul Mahdy EL-Kerbalai, the Secretariat-General of the Imam Hussein holy shrine, and in cooperation with Kerbala health directorate, the Imam Hussein holy shrine prepared medical detachments with full equipment, they are supervised by medical personnel of both sex specialized in various specializations to offer the best medical services that each pilgrim needs. For more information about how those medical detachments operate; we had an interview with Sayed Ahmed Jaleel Shamkhi, the head of the medical detachments at the Imam Hussein holy shrine in which he mentioned, "We have spread groups of medical personnel with the best medical equipment preparing for the millionth Fortieth pilgrimage". He also said, "in case of having an easy situation; we can treat it at the detachment, but if the patient needs some rest, some resuscitation or special care; the patient will be transferred to EL-Husseini General Hospital immediately". He further said that for the situations need surgical interference; the patient will be transferred to Safeer EL-Hussein hospital which belongs to the Imam Hussein holy shrine in order to take the necessary actions. Sayed Shamkhi also mentioned that the medical detachments were spread over three areas, first one is Qiblat EL-Imam EL-Hussein gate, the second one is area between the two holy shrines, and the third one is in front of Safeer EL-Hussein hospital.
