Shaikh Abdul Mahdi EL-Kerbalai calls the government for retracting their decision of canceling the ration stamp

9-Nov-2012, Second part of the Friday sermon held in the Imam Hussein holy shrine, the representative of the supreme religious authority and the preacher of Friday sermon in Kerbala city his Eminence Shaikh Abdul Mahdi EL-Kerbala'i discussed the decision of canceling the ration stamp and exchanging it with a little sum of money. His Eminence mentioned that poor families would afford so much to live. Iraqi people have no entity to resort to but the supreme religious authority to ask for canceling this decision; where the government is alleging that it's limiting the ongoing corruption for saving food materials. So, would actually guarantee that the coming process will be impartial?. so many officials confessed that they are unable to fight corruption in their organizations. so, will there be any solution for all the classes of society especially the poor?. the refusal by the supreme religious authority of this decision is not for a personal interest or a try to frustrate the government, but there are many reasons required that such as 1. The sum of money which will be given to each citizen will be spent on other things than food such as Health aspect ETC.. 2. The sum of money specified by the government for citizen is not enough to provide the essential food materials available in the food stamp. 3. There is no guarantee of non-inflation. 4. based on the statement of the ministry of trade that it is willing to import all food materials. so, why didn't it do that before?. 5. who would guarantee that distribution of money to the citizen will be honest. 6. A great number of Iraqi population headed to the supreme religious authority calling it for stopping the government from implementing the decision. 7. This process will cause inflation in the Iraqi economy because of the increase of the cash flow. so, we hope that the government would take a view at the experiments of the other countries that implemented such a process, and to study it very well in order to find out the positive and negative aspects then decide.
