The Intellectual and Cultural Activities Branch in Al-Diwaniyah, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, delivered a developmental lecture titled "Between the Past and the Present: From Darkness to Light." The session targeted 65 inmates at the Center for the Rehabilitation of Addicts and Drug Users in Al-Diwaniyah as part of its intellectual and awareness programs aimed at supporting psychological and intellectual rehabilitation, while fostering awareness of the importance of positive change and building a better future.
In a statement obtained by the official website, the Branch stated that "the lecture focused on the importance of reviewing past experiences and utilizing them to chart new paths in life, in addition to encouraging participants to discover their personal capabilities and potential and to enhance their self-confidence, helping them overcome challenges and look forward to a future grounded in willpower and responsibility."
The statement added that "the lecture incorporated a series of developmental and encouraging exercises designed to build personal skills, boost motivation toward change, and help participants adopt a positive outlook regarding themselves and their future, while highlighting the importance of making sound decisions and leveraging past experiences as opportunities for learning and stepping into a new phase."
It further explained that "the lecture drew upon religious and educational concepts by citing Quranic verses and noble Hadiths, along with sharing an expressive story handed down from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), with the aim of reinforcing faith-based and human values, strengthening concepts of hope, patience, and resolve, and emphasizing the necessity of adhering to moral values when confronting challenges and striving for positive change."
It noted that "such activities contribute to providing an encouraging environment that assists inmates in adopting an optimistic outlook on life and developing a sense of responsibility toward themselves and their community, as well as motivating them to benefit from rehabilitation and personal development programs to support their steps toward building a more stable and balanced life."
This lecture falls within the framework of developmental and awareness programs implemented by the Intellectual and Cultural Activities Branch in Al-Diwaniyah, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, to elevate intellectual and cultural awareness, contribute to supporting the psychological and human aspects of the targeted groups, and entrench a culture of hope and transformation, encouraging inmates to positively reintegrate into society and move toward a future built on awareness, willpower, and responsible action.
