Imam Zain Al-Abidin Hospital, Affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Receives an Egyptian Medical Delegation

In a statement obtained by the Official Website, the hospital stated that "the visit included inspecting the available medical capabilities, modern equipment, and infrastructure, in addition to assessing the readiness levels and requirements needed to establish an integrated medical environment for performing liver transplant operations, in line with the nature of such specialized procedures that demand integration between medical expertise, technical capabilities, and modern technologies."

It added that "the Egyptian medical delegation's visit represents an opportunity to review the operational requirements in this specialized field and discuss aspects related to advancing sophisticated medical services, thereby contributing to preparing the necessary requisites for transitioning toward conducting liver transplants in the future."

The hospital pointed out that "this visit comes as part of efforts to strengthen medical cooperation, exchange specialized expertise, and benefit from clinical experiences in organ transplantation, supporting the elevation of healthcare standards provided to patients and opening horizons for expanding the scope of specialized therapeutic services delivered by the hospital."

This step falls under the directions of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine aimed at developing its healthcare institutions, bolstering their medical and technical capabilities, and striving to offer advanced therapeutic services that meet patient needs, particularly in specialties requiring precise expertise and sophisticated equipment—especially since the hospital previously succeeded in performing the first two simultaneous liver transplant operations in Iraq, a medical milestone that reflects the development of its capabilities in advanced specialized surgeries.
