The College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University (peace be upon her) for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced that it has obtained unconditional full program accreditation for a duration of five years. This academic milestone reflects the college's fulfillment of national accreditation requirements and standards, embodying its continuous efforts to enhance the quality of pharmaceutical education and elevate its outcomes.
In a statement to the Official Website, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Nour Hatif Al-Dabbagh, stated that "the accreditation standards were distributed across seven main axes, each encompassing a number of indicators that exceeded 108 indicators to evaluate the quality of the educational process, training, assessment, and curriculum, in addition to laboratory efficiency, infrastructure, and the college's research output."
She pointed out that "most of the standards and indicators for achieving national accreditation are fundamentally derived from international accreditation criteria, which enhances the alignment of academic programs with the quality standards approved in educational institutions."
She further explained that "program accreditation represents an important step toward strengthening the standing of female students and graduates in the labor market, while increasing competitive opportunities for postgraduate programs both inside and outside Iraq," noting that "the college aspires to achieve international accreditation, drawing on the close alignment between national and international accreditation standards."
This achievement comes as part of the support provided by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine for the advancement of higher education and scientific research, alongside its pursuit of developing its educational institutions and enhancing the quality of their academic programs in line with approved standards, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified pharmaceutical personnel equipped with the scientific knowledge and professional skills required to serve society.
