The Department of Family Guidance and Counseling at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the Iraqi Reforms Department at the Ministry of Justice, has organized a specialized workshop titled "Integration of Roles between the Reformative Institution and the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in Family Guidance." The event aimed to strengthen cooperation and consolidate efforts in the field of family counseling and rehabilitation.
In a statement obtained by the Official Website, the department noted that "the workshop was attended by directors of affiliated family counseling centers from several governorates, along with female consultants, specialists in psychological, social, and guidance fields, as well as representatives from the Iraqi Reforms Department."
It added that "the workshop reviewed the current state of family counseling services provided inside reformative institutions and discussed key challenges facing the rehabilitation process for male and female inmates, as well as support for their families. It also featured presentations of field experiences delivered by family counseling centers in Al-Muthanna, Baghdad, and Najaf Al-Ashraf governorates."
The statement highlighted that "participants explored mechanisms to develop counseling efforts and strengthen integration among relevant institutions, ensuring the delivery of more effective programs to support inmates and their families."
The organization of this workshop forms part of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine's broader efforts to reinforce the role of family counseling, support inmate rehabilitation, and help prepare individuals for social reintegration upon release, alongside offering assistance to their families throughout the reformative process.
