The Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the completion of the engineering designs for the Al-Warith Hospital for Cancer and General Specialties project in Kirkuk Governorate, under the direction of the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalai, with a total capacity of 400 beds.
The department stated in a statement received by the official website that "the project includes 200 beds dedicated to cancer treatment and 200 beds for general medical specialties, and will be established on a total land area of 26 dunams in accordance with the highest engineering specifications and international standards approved for major medical institutions."
It added that "the designs took into account achieving smooth movement and the integration of specialized services, alongside providing a comprehensive therapeutic environment for patients, thereby contributing to the delivery of advanced medical services."
It explained that "the project consists of four main building blocks, including a five-story main building with a capacity of 400 beds, housing examination, diagnostic, and treatment departments, as well as service facilities and play areas designated for children."
It continued that "the project also includes an eight-story doctors' residential building, dedicated to housing medical staff according to specifications that provide a suitable residential environment, along with a six-story logistics building containing parking facilities to help organize traffic flow within the complex."
It noted that "the service building houses mechanical, electrical, and generator systems to ensure the continuity of power and services around the clock, while the project has been equipped with integrated technical systems, including central air conditioning (HVAC) systems, smart alarm and firefighting systems, public address systems, and modern elevators."
It emphasized that "the hospital is scheduled to be equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, forming an important addition to health services, contributing to strengthening medical infrastructure, and offering advanced specialized services to patients in Kirkuk Governorate and neighboring governorates."
