The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Public Health Directorate of the Iraqi Ministry of Health, aimed at implementing an integrated program to deliver primary and secondary healthcare services at Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women
The General Supervisor of Hospitals at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Dr. Sabah al-Musawi, stated in an interview with the official website that "under the direct guidance of the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai, a cooperation protocol was signed with the Public Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health, with the aim of implementing an integrated program to provide primary and secondary healthcare services at Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women
He clarified that "the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine works in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, and with the support of the Minister of Health, to provide integrated health services across its healthcare institutions," noting that "the signing of the protocol took place in the presence of the Director General of Public Health at the Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Riyadh al-Halfi, and his accompanying delegation."
He added that "the program will be applied at Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women, and includes offering primary and secondary healthcare services to patients and visitors, thereby enhancing the integration of health services provided to women."
He pointed out that "this experiment is the first of its kind in Iraq, through the implementation of public health and primary healthcare programs inside a hospital affiliated with a private institution," highlighting that "the step represents a key experiment in achieving integration between state institutions and healthcare facilities belonging to the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine."
He continued that "the program marks a crucial milestone that could pave the way for implementing primary healthcare programs across various health institutions affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in the future," remarking that "all required infrastructure, staff, and medical supplies were prepared prior to the signing of the protocol, alongside establishing a specific timeframe to complete the implementation phases of the program."
