Imam Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) City for Pilgrims, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, continues implementing its service plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) by providing an integrated package of food, medical, guidance, and logistical services, alongside expanding its pilgrim accommodation facilities and mobilizing its staff.
The Assistant Director of Imam Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) City, Ali Al-Muslimani, said in a statement to the official website, "Imam Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) City for Pilgrims continues to provide an integrated package of food, medical, guidance, and logistical services, alongside expanding its pilgrim accommodation facilities and mobilizing its staff, with the aim of serving pilgrims arriving via the Karbala–Najaf route."
He explained that "the city began implementing its staff alert system on the 7th of Safar, with personnel working 12-hour shifts in preparation for receiving the increasing numbers of pilgrims arriving in the holy city of Karbala."
He added that "food services have gradually increased, with the city initially providing around 1,500 meals per day on the 7th of Safar, rising to 45,000 meals per day by the 15th of Safar, in addition to distributing fruits, sweets, and juices to pilgrims."
He continued that "the city's ice factory produces approximately 1,200 blocks of ice daily, meeting the needs of the city as well as a number of nearby Hussaini processions, while the Vehicles Division continues transporting RO drinking water and regular water to the service processions surrounding the city."
He noted that "the services are not limited to the service aspect, as several departments of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine participate in implementing cultural, religious, and guidance programs, including the Department of Development and Sustainable Development, the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, the Department of Religious Affairs, the Fajr Ashura Center, and the Childhood Care Department."
He pointed out that "the Communications and Information Technology Department provides a dedicated center for assisting lost and missing pilgrims, in addition to offering free internet service to pilgrims from the moment they arrive at the city's axis."
He further noted that "the city also provides specialized services, including the maintenance and repair of wheelchairs and children's strollers, as well as laundry and ironing services for pilgrims' clothing and a dedicated tailoring workshop."
He emphasized that "Imam Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) City includes 16 halls for accommodating and allowing pilgrims to rest. This year, four new halls have been added, while the capacity of each hall is approximately 300 people, enhancing the city's ability to accommodate the increasing numbers of pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage."
