Safir Imam Hussein Hospital Treats 650 Patients in Baghdad Medical Mission

Under the direction of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and as part of its ongoing healthcare and humanitarian programs, Safir Imam Hussein Surgical Hospital dispatched a comprehensive medical delegation to the Al-Maamal area in the capital, Baghdad, in response to continued humanitarian appeals from local residents and to provide them with free medical treatment.

The hospital's Administrative Director, Engineer Abbas Abdul Ali, told the official website, "Under the direction of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and as part of its ongoing healthcare and humanitarian programs, Safir Imam Hussein Surgical Hospital dispatched a comprehensive medical delegation to the Al-Maamal area in the capital, Baghdad, in response to continued humanitarian appeals from local residents and to provide them with free medical treatment."

He explained that "this is the second visit to the area due to the significant humanitarian need and repeated appeals from residents. During the visit, the delegation successfully examined and assessed (650) patients, in addition to diagnosing and referring (70) cases for free surgical operations."

He added that "the delegation includes a wide range of medical specialties, including general surgery, urology, ear, nose and throat (ENT), maxillofacial surgery, infertility, gynecology, and ophthalmology," noting that "the mission was carried out with active participation from Sayyida Zainab Center and Sayyida Khadija Specialized Hospital for Women. The delegation also brought quantities of medicines, medical supplies, laboratory equipment, as well as advanced ophthalmic examination devices to provide comprehensive care."

Through its healthcare institutions, the Holy Hussaini Shrine continues to embody its humanitarian vision by delivering specialized medical services to various regions across Iraq, reaffirming its mission inspired by the principles of Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him) in serving people wherever they may be. This mobile medical initiative represents another step in its ongoing efforts, reflecting the commitment of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, to ensuring that Karbala remains a lasting source of compassion and care for all citizens.
