The Order Maintenance Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the completion of its preparations for organizing and securing the tenth of Muharram pilgrimage and the Tuwairij Run mourning procession through a comprehensive field plan, under the direct supervision of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji.
Speaking to the official website, the head of the Order Maintenance Department, Engineer Rasool Fadhala, said that "the department has prepared a comprehensive organizational and security plan to manage the movement of visitors and mourners arriving at the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) during the tenth of Muharram ceremonies, ensuring the smooth flow of movement and the safety of visitors."
He explained that "the plan includes the deployment of (10,000) personnel, consisting of (2,000) members of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine staff and (8,000) volunteers, who will be stationed across various routes and access points leading to the Holy Husayni Shrine to organize visitor movement and manage the millions of participants."
He added that "the plan also includes the operation of more than (2,400) modern surveillance cameras distributed around the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and the roads leading to it. These cameras contribute to securing the pilgrimage, monitoring crowd movement in real time, analyzing visitor density and distribution, and supporting rapid field decision-making and immediate response to any emergency."
He stressed that "the Order Maintenance Department is working in coordination with supporting departments and security and service agencies under a unified plan aimed at providing the highest levels of organization and safety, in line with the millions of visitors expected in Holy Karbala during the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)."
He noted that "the department has entered a state of maximum alert, with all personnel and equipment placed on full standby around the clock to ensure the efficient implementation of the field plan and the immediate handling of any developments, achieving the highest levels of safety, organization, and service for mourners."
