Safeer Imam Hussein Hospital Activates Ashura and Tuwairij Run Medical Plan

Safeer Imam Hussein Surgical Hospital, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced its medical plan for receiving visitors during the holy month of Muharram and the Tuwairij Run mourning procession, aimed at providing healthcare and treatment services around the clock.

Speaking to the official website, the hospital’s administrative director, Engineer Abbas Abd Ali, said that "Safeer Imam Hussein Surgical Hospital, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has mobilized all of its medical, nursing, and technical staff, in addition to its equipment and resources, to implement a comprehensive healthcare plan that matches the large numbers of visitors arriving in Holy Karbala during the days of Muharram."

He explained that "the plan includes operating the field hospital in the courtyard of Al-Aqeela with a capacity of (60) beds, in addition to the emergency center adjacent to the main hospital with a capacity of (30) beds, as well as medical units deployed inside the Holy Husayni Shrine containing more than (30) beds, in addition to Sayyida Zainab Center with a capacity of (30) beds."

He noted that "these bed capacities are added to the main hospital’s capacity of (100) beds, bringing the total number of beds allocated for medical services to more than (250) beds."

He added that "Safeer Imam Hussein Hospital will operate at its full capacity of (100) beds, in addition to running (4) surgical operating rooms around the clock."

He pointed out that "the plan is supported by specialized medical staff comprising (144) physicians, including (42) surgeons representing (9) surgical specialties, alongside (12) physicians in anesthesia and intensive care, in addition to nursing and support personnel trained in mass gathering medicine."

He further stated that "the hospital has allocated (250) mobile paramedics to be deployed inside and outside the Holy Husayni Shrine during the days of Ashura, while also strengthening medical preparedness for the Tuwairij Run through nearby field hospitals. In addition, between (20-25) ambulances have been provided in coordination with the relevant health authorities to ensure rapid medical evacuation."

All medical centers and units operating under the plan are equipped with the latest medical devices, treatment supplies, and life-saving medications, ensuring rapid response and the delivery of the best healthcare services to visitors during Muharram and the Tuwairij Run.
