The Emergency Centers Department of the Health Crisis Center, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has begun implementing a comprehensive emergency health plan as part of preparations for the tenth of Muharram and the Tuwairij Run.
Speaking to the official website, the head of the department’s Medical Units Division, Dr. Makki Attar, said that "the plan includes the establishment of three field hospitals and three advanced emergency centers distributed across the most densely populated visitor areas inside and outside the courtyard of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), to ensure the provision of medical and emergency services during the tenth of Muharram ceremonies and the Tuwairij Run."
He explained that "the plan also includes the deployment of specialized evacuation and rapid-response medical points responsible for transferring emergency cases from areas of mass gatherings to nearby emergency centers and field hospitals, ensuring rapid response and reducing the time required to access medical services."
He noted that "the healthcare system is managed through the Operations Management Room of the Health Crisis Management System, which oversees the direct tracking of mobile paramedics, monitors performance indicators at emergency centers and field hospitals, documents medical cases, and directs field teams according to emerging developments."
He added that "the plan has witnessed broad participation from volunteer medical and nursing personnel from inside and outside Iraq, contributing to the healthcare and humanitarian services provided to visitors during the commemoration of Ashura and the Tuwairij Run."
The Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has prepared a comprehensive healthcare plan for the tenth of Muharram and the Tuwairij Run, including the deployment of field hospitals, emergency centers, and medical units along key routes and visitor movement corridors to ensure the delivery of the best possible medical services.
