The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, called on the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to serve as a model in responding to this humanitarian appeal, urging the servants of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and believers to contribute whatever they can to support those affected and ease the suffering of the Lebanese and Iranian people. This came during a meeting held in the ceremonial hall, attended by the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Professor Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayji, members of the Board of Directors, and a number of department heads.
The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority stated that “what was mentioned in the Eid prayer sermon affirmed that faith is action and solidarity,” noting that “the current circumstances and the escalating crises and suffering impose a religious and humanitarian duty to provide assistance and support to those affected among the Lebanese and Iranian people.”
He explained that “the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has taken the initiative to embody this duty by preparing a large-scale relief campaign,” adding that “the first campaign will be launched in the coming days and will include around 20 transport vehicles carrying aid, including ambulances, machinery, and medical devices and equipment, in addition to other in-kind assistance.”
He added that “preparations for the campaign began days ago and involved significant efforts, with financial expenditures ranging between 2–3 billion Iraqi dinars to secure the essential needs of those affected.”
He emphasized that “it is important for the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to set an example in responding to this humanitarian call,” urging all servants of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and believers to contribute whatever they can to support those affected and alleviate their suffering, noting that “this initiative comes in response to the call of the Supreme Religious Authority and reflects the values of solidarity and mutual support in addressing humanitarian crises.”
