Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Launches Project to Document Crimes of the Former Regime

As part of its efforts to strengthen intellectual security, the Bayyina Center for Intellectual and Cultural Security, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, held a special meeting to launch a project to document the crimes of the former regime, within its ongoing initiatives to support and advance scientific and intellectual development.

The director of the center, Sheikh Ali Al-Qarawi, said in a statement to the official website that “the Bayyina Center for Intellectual Security, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, held a special meeting to launch the project, with the participation of a number of specialists and researchers, as part of continuous efforts to support and develop the scientific and intellectual movement.”

He explained that “an agreement was reached to form a specialized working team tasked with collecting, analyzing, and classifying documents according to a rigorous scientific methodology, ensuring the presentation of documented and accurate material that reflects the scale of violations suffered by society during that period.”

He added that “the project will primarily rely on the documents available at the center, in addition to benefiting from supporting sources and data that contribute to building a comprehensive archival record that preserves national memory and safeguards facts from distortion or neglect.”

He noted that “the project aims to revive societal memory and shed light on the crimes committed by the former regime against the people, in a way that enhances collective awareness, promotes a culture of justice and fairness, and reinforces human values that reject injustice and tyranny.”

This project comes within the vision of the Bayyina Center for Intellectual and Cultural Security at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to promote sound documentation studies and strengthen intellectual security through a scholarly reading of modern history, contributing to the development of an informed societal awareness grounded in documented facts.
