Shrine is preparing to launch the third season of the Great Colors Contest for painting, an initiative designed to highlight talented children in the fields of drawing and coloring.

Mr. Montazer Al-Nasrawi, the Head of the Department, stated in an interview with the Official Website that "the Child Care and Development Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is preparing to launch the third Great Colors Contest for painting." He indicated that "the competition targets talented children in the field of drawing and coloring, aged 14 years and under, as part of a vision aimed at embracing and nurturing artistic talents among children in various provinces of Iraq."

Al-Nasrawi explained that "the competition includes three major financial prizes: 750,000 dinars for the first prize, 500,000 dinars for the second prize, and 250,000 dinars for the third prize, in addition to other encouragement prizes to support and motivate the participants."

He added that "in its previous two seasons, the competition was available to all children but held at a single location in Karbala province. However, the third season is witnessing a notable geographical expansion, as its events this year will be held in three provinces: Holy Karbala, Al-Diwaniyah, and Dhi Qar."

Regarding the schedule, Al-Nasrawi continued, "In the province of Holy Karbala, the competition will launch for three days starting Friday (December 19). The first day will be held at the Courtyard of Al-Aqila (peace be upon her) opposite the Qibla Gate of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) during the evening period. Events will continue on Saturday and Sunday at the Reading Club in the Al-Hussain Al-Sagheer Center in the Hai Al-Naqeeb area – Al-Nahr Street, from morning until evening, offering children the opportunity to attend and participate without prior registration."

He noted that "the competition in Al-Diwaniyah province will be held on Friday and Saturday (December 19–20), in coordination with the Religious and Cultural Activities Division of the Religious Affairs Department." He further pointed out that "the third hub will be in the Al-Shatra district of Dhi Qar province, where the competition is organized in cooperation with the Hope Makers Youth Cultural Gathering on Friday and Saturday (December 19–20)."

Al-Nasrawi mentioned that "the competition is conducted using wooden colored pencils, and its theme revolves around the life of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The competition management confirms the provision of all supplies, including pencils, paper, stationery, and coloring tools, while allowing children who wish to bring their own tools to do so."

The Great Colors Painting Contest is part of a series of cultural and artistic activities that the Child Care and Development Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is keen to organize, aiming to develop children's creative abilities and discover and nurture artistic talents at an early age.
