In terms of controlling the throng of pilgrims during the Arba’een pilgrimage and making more space for the pilgrims, the Imam Hussain Shrine has begun connecting Bab Elqibleh basement with the shrine of Imam Hussain.
The supervising engineer of the project, Selam EsSe’doon, said the company implementing the project has begun building a tunnel that connects the basement with the shrine.
EsSe’doon added that the foundations for reinforced concrete pillars of the ceiling will be built next week, which will prepare the place to temporarily receive pilgrims during the coming 10th of Muharram.
It’s noteworthy that the Imam Hussain Shrine has a strategic plan to connect the four basements with each other, forming 40002m, and connect them the Imam Hussain Shrine.
