Opening new annex to EsSefeer hospital

The representative of the Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority and the custodian of the Imam Hussain Shrine, sheikh Abdul-Mehdi Elkerbela’i, opened the new annex of EsSefeer Hospital on Sunday 6, 23, 2019.

Assistant director of the hospital Khudhaier Yas said, “The purpose of the annex is to provide more space to treat more patients.”

Yas added that the annex provides a space for 44 beds, noting that the annex wards were equipped with modern medical technologies.

He indicated that all the medical services the hospital offers are free of charge, except for a $4 copay paid to Kerbela’s Health Department for having surgery.

It is noteworthy that EsSefeer hospital received more than 152,275 patients and performed 11,039 surgeries in 2018.
