On the occasion of the upcoming Greater Bairam (Eid), the Martyred and Wounded Paramilitary Family Care Department of the Imam Hussain Shrine held an award ceremony, last Friday, for hundreds of orphans whose fathers fought against ISIS and sacrificed themselves for Iraq.
The award ceremony – attended by many people – was held to return some favor of the orphans’ martyrs’ sacrifices for their country,” said Ahmed Resool – head of the Martyred and Wounded Paramilitary Family Care Department.
He said further that 300 orphans from the city of Babylon and the city of Kerbela were awarded, in addition to providing them with school backpacks, stationery, and clothes.
Resool indicated that the Imam Hussain Shrine continues to look after the orphans, and soon will enroll them in school for free.
The attending families and orphans expressed their thankfulness for the efforts made by the Imam Hussain Shrine in terms of looking after the families of the martyred and wounded paramilitaries, saying that their fathers’ sacrifices have not been in vain.
