Sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbela’e, representative of the Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority, gave instructions to the paramilitaries preparing for liberating El-Haweeja District – Kirkuk City, during a meeting with Ali El-Akber Paramilitary Brigade commander.
El-Kerbela’e instructed that the paramilitaries and soldiers should protect the civilians, especially the children and women, and their properties, in addition to offering them any assistance possible.
El-Haweeja is 125 kilometers away from Mosul where the last nests of ISIS militants are. The Iraqi forces, supported by the Popular Mobilization Forces have been gathering on the outskirts of the district, waiting for the order to liberate.
