Presents given to Coptic church, father Mena: Imam Hussein is for all religions

Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has honored father Mena Urshelimi, head of Coptic Christian sect, in Iraq, in appreciation of his efforts during the Conference on Heritage and Monuments held by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine last June.

Father Urshelimi expressed his gratitude to have visited the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, confirming that paying reciprocal visits is a significant step towards peaceful co-existence in Iraq.

He considered Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) as an Imam for everyone, and not only for Shia Muslims.

He added that it is very important to communicate with other religions and religious denominations in order to gain the honor of making a pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him); a pilgrimage that is accepted by God and the Imam.

He then presented some presents to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine: a shield from the church with the map of Iraq on it, and the shield of the Coptic Christian denomination with the picture of the Virgin Mary (Peace Be Upon Her) on it.
