During Friday’s Sermon on 14 July 2017, the representative of the Shia Supreme Religious Authority, sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbela’e, congratulated the Iraqi people on achieving victory over ISIS. He also expressed his grief to the families of the martyrs and wounded.
His eminence said that on the occasion completely liberating the city of Mosul from ISIS. He extended his congratulations to the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces, remembering the sacrifices of the martyrs and the wounded for their homeland.
He also extended his gratitude to those who took part in achieving this significant historical victory, saying that nothing is enough to reward those who faced the enemy.
He added, “Our victory is going to remain forever, it is something we are proud of. And such a victory is priceless, for it took so much blood to achieve.”
