Sunni cleric calls for Iraqi solidarity to face terrorism and extremism

 

Sheikh Umer Mehdi Ahmed, member of Sunni Muslim denomination known as Wasat (Moderate), from the City of Anbar, visited Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and met with the representative of the Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbela’e.

 

During the meeting, Ahmed called for cracking down terrorism and extremism by spreading the sense of tolerance and solidarity.

 

He also invited the clerics of all religions and religious denominations, and scholarly societies in Iraq to unify to traverse what Iraq has been through.
