The Imam Hussein and the El-Abbas Holy Shrines held a stately festival on the occasion of the anniversary of the blessed birth of the Awaited Imam Mohammed El-Mehdi (May God Hasten His Reappearance).
1183 candles, forming the name Mehdi, were lit up according to the age of the Imam (Peace Be Upon Him).
This festival annually held known as Candle Festival. This year, a great number of the adorers of the Ahlul-Bayet (Peace Be Upon Them) attended the festival, expressing their true love for the Imam, congratulating one another on such blessed occasion.
A speech was delivered by sheikh Maithem Ez-Zaidi in behalf of the Imam Hussein and the El-Abbas Holy Shrines, in which he said that the Awaited Imam said: “For the events taking place, they need to be referred to those of knowledge; those who carry the knowledge of the Ahlul-Bayet (Peace Be Upon Them), for they are my proof on you, and I am God’s proof on them.”
