Mourners commemorate martyrdom of imam El-Hasan (Peace Be Upon Him)

On the occasion of the martyrdom of imam El-Hasan, son of imam Ali, (Peace Be Upon Them), the holy city of Kerbala witnessed a great number of mourners who carried a symbolic coffin, pierced with many arrows, into the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, showing how the coffin of Imam El-Hasan (Peace Be Upon Him) had been attacked and how his body had been prevented from being buried near the prophet Mohammed (Allah’s Blessings and Peace Be Upon Him and His Pure Lineage).

A mourning ceremony was held between the Imam Hussein and the El-Abbas Holy Shrines in which a preacher delivered a lecture, remembering the tribulations the Imam confronted, and reminding of the importance of reviewing his life and his commandments.

The ceremony was attended by the custodian of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, his Eminence sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbala’e, and the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, his Eminence sayyid Ja’fer El-Musawi, in addition to a great number of mourners and pilgrims.

The Holy Shrine of imam El-Hasan, along with the Holy Shrines of imam Es-Sejjad: imam El-Baqir: imam Es-Sadiq: and some companions of the prophet (Peace Be Upon Them); buried in Saudi Arabia, were demolished in 1925.
