The Electronic Media Division of the Department of Media of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has stated that exploiters have recently created fake accounts and websites under the name of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and been communicating with some people, attempting to take money from them in return for making pilgrimage by proxy to Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him). Wela’ Es-Seffar, director of the Electronic Media Division, said that the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has (11) various official websites on the social media, in addition to a specific number on WhatsApp, a channel on Telegram, and a channel on Youtube. Es-Seffar added that the Electronic Media Division will file a lawsuit against those unknown impersonators in order to prosecute them and shut down those fake accounts and websites.
