Under the patronage of the Representative of the supreme religious authority and the general secretariat of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, the House of the Holy Qur’an (Dar al-Quran) launched its first activity of first international Quranic competition activities for the holy shrines in reading and memorizing the Holy Qur’an at the Imam Hussain shrine, on Saturday, 23/7/2022.
The head of the Quranic Media Center, Safaa Al-Silawi, said: The ceremonies of the competition were launched in the presence of the seven countries' representatives, senior clerics from the religious Hawza, academic figures, the heads of the departments of the Holy Shrine, and a great Quranic audience.
Al-Silawi added, "The ceremony began with a recitation by the Sheikh Maytham Al-Tamar, followed by the speech of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Secretary-General, Mr Hassan Rashid Al-Abaychi, in which he spoke about the importance of the role played by the Holy Qur’an House in preparing an armed generation with Quranic culture and the Ahl al-Bayt (As) hadiths, and its tireless work in supporting the local and international Quranic scene. With Quranic and scientific literature and holding Quranic conferences, competitions, and forums
he thanked the House of the Holy Qur’an for adopting such qualitative events, and for the countries' participants in the competition.
followed by a speech by the Jurisprudence Scientific Council member in the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf, Sheikh Noureddine Khurshid.
Al-Silawi continued, " the head of the Holy Quran House Sheikh Dr. Khair Al-Din Al-Hadi, expressed his opinion about the importance of this competition which is the first of its kind for the holy shrines"
it is stated that the countries participating in the competition are Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and Afghanistan.
